Has anyone added the Mopar driving lights on their front bumper/grill area? If you have a review would be great.

If you haven't gotten the pat yet...then from the factory would be the best choice. It's only like a $120 add-on and it's integrated in with the headlight switch...no aftermarket looking install and wires to mess with.

I'm getting them added on but the dealer is putting them on when the Jeep arrives.
I'll let you know in a couple of weeks

Look at that..I'm quoting myself:blah:, Above, I'm referencing Fog lamps...but now I realize the topic was "Driving Lamps"...which I see a picture of on the main page of jeeppatriot.com. I don't have any insight on that one. Keep us posted though as they look kinda neat.

Love my fog lights on my patriot, they work very well and they came already installed.

I have an 08 FDII sport and one of the reasons I got the off road package was for the fog lights, full size spare tire, and tow hooks. I have had mine for a month and the fog lights have come in very handy. I too am curious about the driving lights. I have heard mixed info on them so any info would be appreciated

As I mentioned the dealer is going to install mine when it comes in.
The fog lamps are installed at the factory which I'm getting those too but wanted the driving lights because of some of the dark back roads.

I tried to get them installed at severl non dealer stores, b/c it's somehwere in the neighborhood of $400 by the time it's said and done; I think the dealer quoted me another $150 to install, and I know the GM of the dealer.... too expensive. None of the individul shops I went to could make it work. There's a gap between the outer bumper fascia and the metal bumper inside itself; if lights are just clamped to it, it'll cause the plastic bumper to crease and crack over time. If ya'll can all get a good deal on it through the dealer, then congratulations! That's an option that I was not given.

As for aftermarket, I'm thinking of trying to get the Mopar installation brackets (30 bucks or so) and connecting them to some Hella 500's. I'm thinking the only par that really needs to work is that stupid bracket. I don't know why they had to make the Patriot so different from all the other Jeeps! :-(

I mounted my Hella 500's by drilling a 1/2 in. hole through the plastic and foam down to the metal in the bumper, and then drilling a 3/8 in. hole through the metal. Then, I picked up some 1 in. long spacers from lowes with an ID of 3/8 in. and an OD of 1/2 in. I had to replace the stock bolts in the Hella's with carriage bolts that were ~2 in. longer. This also required squaring off the holes in the bottom brackets of the lights with a file. It really wasn't that much work. It only cost me about $5 because I talked my parents into buying me the lights for my Birthday. Think: "Christmas is coming"
