I've been thinking of ways to uniquely modify my Patriot and was considering a Stainless Steel Grill, along with other stainless pieces (door sill plates, mirror bodies, armor, etc.). A couple things I am thinking about; 1) Stainless weighs quite a bit, 2) it would look and function better than chromed steel, 3) it would never rust!, 4) it would cost a lot to fabricate. Does anyone else have any input. I mean, realistically, it would be cheaper to take my existing grill and have it chromed, but I think a stainless would look pretty cool. If anyone else is down for this, maybe we could make a case for a fabricator to produce them at a reasonable price.

You can take off the grille, then the black grates (behind the slots) and spray paint them with a silver color to give you a touch of added flair.

There's no way to chrome-plate the existing front facia: it's urethane. You would have to 1) paint it 2) replace it with a fabricated metal piece 3) (best idea) get an adhesive-backed stamped chrome piece that just sticks iver the original surface, like the lower-door chrome does on Lincolns and Caddys....
Another cool idea: JC Whitney sells nice chrome tape - you could (cheap!) put chrome tape on the front of the black bars which fill the openings.

Wow, um, okay... It's good to know the grille isn't metal. I don't actually want to chrome it. Chrome is BAD. I would like a stamped stainless steel grill ultimately. But thanks for the info.
