Is there such thing as a "normal" amount of water leakage around the sunroof seal? I say this because I just had my Patriot out in a very severe, hard-driven, strong thunderstorm rain (it's first, by the way) and I got a few drops of water hanging from both front inside corners of the glass panel where the seal meets the roof opening. Nothing actually dripped on me or dripped from the headliner, etc. I stuck my hand up there to check while driving and felt a very small amount of moisture.
I'm so paranoid about this after reading the old threads about sunroof leaks...:o

I think the presence of a "Channel, Sunroof Drain" and "Hose, Sunroof Drain" shows acknowledgement that some water is going to get in eventually. The channel and hoses are to control where it goes after entry, and (hopefully) prevent major problems.
Page 444: http://www.berrysprinter.com/07mk.pdf Those are some very long hoses to the bottom of the vehicle!
PS: good taste in color combo!! (just like mine-see gallery pics)

Thanks dougep. It was raining really hard when I was out in it yesterday....not typical for our region. I had checked the seal after washing the car a few times and never noticed any dripping then. Need to try it in our local Laserwash (high pressure, touchless) that I frequent during the winter months to keep the road salt from disintegrating my vehicle. I will keep an eye on it to see if this is going to be a regular occurrence; if so, I'll take it in.
I had never really checked the sunroof on my Liberty under similar conditions, so I don't have a good point of reference. It never gave me any trouble.
I saw your gallery photos and repeatedly ogled at them over the 10 weeks I waited to get mine. I love this color combo; the Inferno Red paint is just beautiful in the sun when it's clean. Very sparkley.:smiley_thumbs_up:

When I first got mine within the first week it rained and there was a leak dripping down into my dash (passenger side). Then I washed it at the high pressure car wash and it leaked again. I took it in and they fixed it and I have not had any leaks since. May just want to complain because it shouldn't leak at all.

Been through the Laserwash 6 weeks now, NO LEAKS ANYWHERE!!!!!!
Open the sunshade as you go through the wash and you can see the underside of the rubber rim gasket and if anything leaks you should see where it is coming from.

By the way, I did take my Patriot through our local Laserwash last week and the sunroof leaked pretty heavily around the seal in many locations. I have not had any leaks that actually dripped on me or wet the headliner; I think the drip tray is doing it's job, but I think that water should not be getting past the seal at all in the first place.
