: Colorado Bound!
HoosierMud 05-08-2009, 06:47 AM We'll be heading out to fun in the mountain sun after we pick up our daughter this evening from Purdue. Her very last final is at 6:00 PM, then she graduates. YIPPEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!
I feel like a kid going to my very first major league baseball game:banana: I love Colorado!!
While we are out in Colorado, we will be celebrating Mother's Day and our anniversary, which is on the 11th. Hmmmmm, I think my wife planned this:doh:
Trying to get through work today, though, will be tough.
We should arrive sometime mid to late Saturday afternoon in Colorado Springs. We are planning on meeting up with members from the Rocky MK's from the forum for a meet and greet Saturday--as long as we get there in time.
We will stay in CS for a couple nights. We plan on doing a couple of the trails along the Rampart Range Rd, then head from Colorado Springs to the Gunnison region.
Kahbrohn 05-08-2009, 07:30 AM GRATZ on the daughters graduation. My son is in his third year of engineering and the daughter in her first year of chemistry (to then move on to medicine).
Gratz on the anniversary! Mine is in August... 25 years and no regrets! (Yeah Yeah Yeah... I know people... I'm old... :p )
My kids were in Colorado a few years ago and loved it. I wish I could be there with you guys... even if it were in a rental. Have fun!!! Take lots and lots of pictures!
UA_who 05-08-2009, 12:10 PM I hope you enjoy the trip. The weather is beautiful this time of year in the front range.
If you've never been there before, definitely take the time to drive up into the hills. And if you can, hit one of the two 14-er's that you can drive to. Mt. Evans is paved all the way to the top. Pikes Peak has a road to the top, but is dirt.
tazman900 05-08-2009, 01:16 PM Have fun

I spent a lot of time in Colorado (Salida area) as a kid. We were out in 2000, 2004, and again last year.

HoosierMud 05-11-2009, 07:19 PM We ran Rampart Range Road on Sunday from Garden of the Gods to Woodland Park. The very start of the trail was very bumpy with some pretty good size dips, but the JGC did just fine. Any of the Patriots would do just fine. The whole way, the trail was pretty washboarded, though. My wife said she heard they just opened the trail up the Friday before we ran it????
We have pictures, but they will have to wait till we return home to upload. Today, we took our daughter up to St. Elmo. We were there last year, but the Chipmunks weren't out in force. This year they were. Tie rubber bands around your pant legs to keep the critters from climbing up your leg and buy some CM food!
UA_who 05-12-2009, 12:08 AM Sounds nice.
I can't wait for some pics.
HoosierMud 05-13-2009, 08:30 AM Went to Ouray on Tuesday. There is a reason it is referred to as the "Switzerland of the U.S."!!!

HoosierMud 05-13-2009, 08:47 PM I wish we could, but work is calling for next week. We'll be leaving Friday for Indiana.
We did go down to Creede today. Ran the Bachelor Loop Trail for about 5 mile, plus several other sightseeing things. Creede is a real nice area.

Arrrrrgh. The WIFI at our last hotel sucked and I just got your message. Of course, we are setting in Silverthorne:(.
It was nice to meet up with everyone again this year. Sometime, we might actually be able to take the Jeeps off-road together.
