So I am ordering the 08 pat limited with the sunburst orange after seeing the SEMA concept. I will be painting the grille/bumpers black and most likely the rims as well but not sure about that one. The question is, is this something I can do myself, and if not what will it cost at an autobody place? Anyone have any ideas/suggestions?

What I would do is call around to different Auto Body shops, ask for an estimate for the cost. My uncle had some rims painted and I think it cost a couple hundred dollars.

Do not waste your time PAINTING rims... spend the money and have them professionally powder coated. It will look better, last longer and wont have to be redone like paint would be!

I am going to wait and see the rims...honestly it is the grille and (ugly) bumper that are the most pressing issues. Certainly if I decide to do the rims I will have them powder coated. Once I actually get this jeep (late Aug probably) I will find out the cost of the paint job.

I was considering something similar, however my Patriot is or will be however you see it... Silver So I was going for a Silver/Gray or Silver/Black look too. But are you going to just paint the stock bumper or are going with an aftermarket bumper like on the SEMA show jeep?

I don't know where I can get the aftermarket bumper so I was going to have the original painted.
