We purchased our patriot about a month ago and it had the trailer ready package. And to my suprise the wiring harness was in the back in a bag? Sooo The dealer said when ya get the hitch installed you have the wiring to be installed at that time. We won't tow anything with the patriot because we have a tahoe. If want the wiring make me an offer. if not I'm gunna put it on ebay. Again it's new and still sitting in the back of the jeep. We are in washington state. Thanks. 360-333-9555

What are you looking for $$? I really have no context of what they cost.

There are options & there are options. I wanted the Ltd. 4x4 (Freedom I) with trailer tow pacage for a 1500lb. tent trailer. Rather than wait 3-4 mos. for an order, I bought the only available 4x4, which turned out to be the Patriot in the showroom. The trailer pacage had to be retrofitted at the dealer, which included wiring, cooling package, and ball (wrong size) but no tongue, which added $400 not $100 to the sticker price, which was offset by discounts. The harness was installed with the harness facing down, to the left of the cavety which holds the spare, which is good I gues for drainage if wet but makes the connection vulnerable, as the trailers harness' plug hangs down 4 additional 4 inches. A better installation would have been an angle bracket to allow the connection to be parallel to the underbody rather than perpindicular. As I have downsized from a '97 Safari Van, I purchased extension mirrors to allow proper visibility with the narrower patriot. I have since purchases the right-sized ball and tongue (Reese) and have verified the mechanical and wiring connections. Will go for a test tow or two before my camping vacation in August. My Patriot being a showroom car came with 2 options I did not necessarily want Sunroof & Satellite, id did have the Boston Accoustics option, which I did want. I am sold on the Satellite with no commercials. The Ltd. roof racks make washing a challenge and I'll have to see how the Sunroof fares in our Canadian Winters, as the Jeep won't be in a garage. I've had the Jeep about six weeks and 4600KM with no issues!
