Firstly, I'm new to forums so if this post lands up in a wrong section - apologies.

I have had my 08 patriot , CRD Ltd , FD1 for 3 great weeks. Last week while on a muddy farm road I used the 4wd lock, after pulling on "T" handle, the 4wd light illuminated and it seemed to have worked.

I noticed a clicking sound from under the "T" handle aera every time I acclerated and again when I took my foot off the gas. Even when the 4wd lock is off , it still continues to present . It does not sound mechanical by nature but more like an electric switch or contact responding to power coming through from the engine.

Has anyone experienced this before on their Patriot? Any suggestions or advice would be great.
