Some how bits of white paint got splatter on mu patriot. Don't know how or where. I noticed it when I was getting the mower out of the garage. Does anyone know how to remove it with damaging the paint job?

Claybar?

I agree, the claybar would be your best bet. Meguire's and Mother's make a good kit.

It's amazing when used properly what crap the claybar "pulls" out of the paint, and how silky smooth the surface is afterwards!

Thanks everyone. I'll give that a try.

Just make sure to follow the instructions, use the spray lube (ha!) and keep "molding" the bar to keep the surface clean as you work. I'd recommend doing the whole exterior rather than just the affected area. At least, you're going to want to do the whole thing after seeing how great a job it does.

Id did the whole jeep with the claybar the first week I got it and then gave it a nice coat of carnuba wax.

The claybar also works wonders for removing dead bugs and road tar.

If the clay doesn't work (and it might not if its the paint they use for road striping) you might try liquid bug & tar remover and patience. That happened to me on my last car and I waited too long (I guess) to try to get it off. It was really really tough stuff to remove. The bug and tar remover did work but it still took a long time.

I am a believer in "clay" however. Will be doing it to my Pat one of these days...
