Finally decided on a 4x2 Limited (Metallic Green). I don't need 4x4.

But a few calls in my area (Las Vegas)...have indicated that there is very little (if none at all) inventory of the 4x2 Limited within a 200 mile radius.

I really wanted the Metallic Green and the Tan interior...but doesn't look like its going to happen.

Anyone know what's up with the 4x2 Limited, and why dealers aren't carrying them?

Yeps. have talked to 2 dealers about ordering....and due to the extremely sad state of the economy in Vegas.....the conversation always breaks down to "just get the Sport in the lot, you can have it tomorrow, ordering may take 8 weeks."

I understand though....these guys have to get rid of their inventory and meet monthly quotas.

..still.....

Dude; I would trade for a 4x4 in a moment. We love our 4x2, but we do like the off-road; and we would probably go a lot more, with a little less inhibition than we do with ours. Out here in CA, all we have are 4x2's either in limited or highly spec'd sports.

If you talk to your dealer, they should be able to work out an inter-dealer trade. In other words, getting stock off another dealers' lot to get you what you need.

They cut back on inventory, and then the Guzler thing came in, and now they are short and waiting for the factory to fill orders.

But then again I ordered mine last year before all of that and it still took 8 weeks.

I'd say go for the standard 4x4 then, I don't think it's that much more, and you can always use that as a bargaining chip with the dealer too. You'll get a more versatile vehicle, and should get more at trade in too. More people will be looking for a Jeep with 4x4 than without I would think.

You don;t have to lock it into 4wd to appreciate it either.
