"The history of Willys Knight goes back to 1913 when J.N. Willys met up with Charles Y. Knight whilst on a trip to England."

At one time Willys was one of the top cars in the industry but they could not compete against the emerging Ford - GM - Chrysler juggernaut of the late twenties and early thirties. Yes the depression crushed the independents but Willys was in trouble before then and it was Walter Chrysler leaving to start his firm that began the decline. They were ahead of the times as indicated by their ad slogan "Whippet Good".

I still have pictures of my grandfather standing proudly near his Willys-Knight--had to be in the 20's as my father was a kid then...

This car had wooden spoke wheels, even the spare. And was an open touring car.
