Greece has asked European Union to reduce registration fees by 50% for vehicles up to 1,6lt and 20% from 1,6-2,0lt in order to help the local car market to overcome the crisis. This is going to reduce car prices by 1.000 to 1.500euro.
Do you think it would really help the market? Am I a sucker to buy my Patriot 3 months ago without any reduction in registration fees? Would the current discounts that reach 3.000euros still exist, or the registration fees reduction will just "fit" into them?

Alex I think that it is a good move from the greek goverment but people who bought cars the last three four months will feel like idiots and suckers. The main problem is that reducing the price the only thing that it will cost us as a country is that we won't win more money to help the local market. As all of us know that the biggest amount of the money we spend for a vehicle goes to the brand that built the vehicle. So Greece won't win anything from that reduse. So it's a bad idea for me cause all of us will pay in another that amoun of money.

The rumor has been confirmed. Registration fees are reduced by 50% in Greece for all vehicles. The reduction in Patriot's price would now be ~2.500euro. It sucks! Of cource this os going to have a durtion of 4 months only and things will roll back after that. I'm not sure about where this is going, time will tell.

as I told before alex. Our politics are for freal kicks and tomatoes. I hope that patriot will be back to it's first price otherwise we already have lost 2.500 Euros with what they did in three months

As I said, this will have a duration of 4 months, just to give a breath to the car market. Afterward we will see wht happens. It's very likely though, that they are going to extend it. As we say in Greece "nothing is more permanent than temporary". Or something like that... ;)
