It seems that there is not much information yet as to the prowess of the Patriot with FDII in the higher Rockies. I only spend about 5% of my time driving Jeep passes in Colorado, but that is a very important 5% to me. Most of my driving is from 8,000 to 12,000 feet and difficulty in the 5 to 6 range. Anyone have any info in this area? I am a 10 year, 250,000 mile Cherokee 4X4 owner. Thanks much!

I, too, would like some information about the Patriot on the backroads in CO. I'm almost there with you: 8 year--98 XJ owner--with just over 247,000 miles on mine.

I live in Colorado...
so what exactly do you want to know?
my gas mileage seems to be significantly lower than everyone elses, but I have not yet reached 1000 miles where I am hoping for big changes
It has held up really well in the little snow and rain we have got this may

Have you had a chance to take your Patriot on some of the old trail/mining roads in CO. If you have, has your Pat had any issues with them, or has it been able to handle what has been thrown its way? How about the stock SR/A tires? Are they able to handle moderate backroads without any problems?

I have the white-lettered tires...
I have not done anything more than some mild dirt roads, which they handled well on
I am planning on going on an offroad trail that I have done before but a long time ago with my car so I can tell you how it worked out after that but I dont really have any legitimate dates for that so it's probably not gonna be too soon but who knows

I have a FDII/CVT2L. I live in northwest NM, about 7000 feet up (high desert). It is pretty windy here, plenty of hills, and we get plenty of snow in the winter (although not as much as CO). So far, no problems. My gas mileage is good. It can handle the trails out here w/o problems. :smiley_thumbs_up:
