Not quite what I expected from a trip to Costco to get some diapers for my daughter...
That Costco is right next to the Hillsboro airport. Yesterday was the last day of the huge airshow out at that airpirt. We watched the planes fly low over head as we walked across the huge parking lot to the store's entrance. An old military jet didn't sound like you'd expect as it was taking off and never seemed to really get very high off the ground.
I stopped in my tracked with eyes glued to the jet as it got closer and lower. I flew past and I turned my back to it while pulling my daughter in front of me. I felt very exposed as I dropped, tucking into a ball over my her....

The plane slammed into a house a handull of blocks away. We heard and felt the imact and/or explosion. If you've ever been really close to large fireworks you'd recognize the feel we experienced from the concussion.
Though the pilot had an ejection seat, he rode jet all the way in. He, alone, lost his life in the crash. One house was leveled and three others were damaged in the fire.
I didn't have a camera with me; above is an image from roughly the same distance and area we were at the time. Here's a link to more info. (http://www.katu.com/stories/87630.html)
