Nice Jeep. Did you get that KK at Patrick in Rochester?
unclejjg 03-16-2009, 12:52 PM Yes. I had it built for me....their selection wasn't very good, and I wanted a Limited w/Selec-Trac and no sun roof.
I was just there getting my XJ serviced. I agree there weren't too many Liberties but they had plenty of Patriots.
unclejjg 03-16-2009, 01:05 PM Yeah...plenty of Patriots...but you'll notice they had no FDII Patriots. I don't think they have ever had one.
That ticked me off when I was looking at Patriots. Its like they order the same exact package of everything.
I think there are a lot of people who would opt for Selec-Trac over Command-Trac....and I'm sure there are a few people (like me) who would be (have been) interested in seeing an FDII Pat.
unclejjg 03-16-2009, 01:07 PM I'll tell you one thing...there are no "lightly used" 4x4 Patriots in Rochester! I'm trying to track one down for my girlfriend...they must be so popular nobody is trading them in or something.
Yeah, I've seen a bunch of used Compasses and some new '08 Compasses still around but no 4x4 Patriots. Plus the Patriot is not like some of the other Chrysler rental fodder you can get a year old with somewhat low mileage on it when dealers by them back.
STOCKYbuilt 03-16-2009, 04:06 PM Lifted new gen KK, very nice!
HoosierMud 03-16-2009, 04:16 PM My wife and I are kicking around possibilites of trying to get two Jeeps. One would be the Liberty. The other might be a used Wrangler or Patriot. We'll have to see how the cards shape up.
We'd probably trade in/sell to one of our kids her JGC. We'd keep my XJ.
I'll have to get a decal for the Liberty that says "Cherokee Tough", though!

Hahaha...Hoosier, over on the Lost forums, the guys have already made a European contact that is exporting the "Cherokee" side molding to replace the US "Liberty" version.

- George - 03-17-2009, 08:13 AM Whats the total ground clearance?
unclejjg 03-17-2009, 09:48 AM Whats the total ground clearance?
George, the low point is the rear axle, and as with any solid axle vehicle the lift isn't going to improve the ground clearance at that point....only larger tires will.
My tires are 1.5" taller than stock, so at the rear axle my ground clearance is approximately 7.9" (stock) + .75" (one half the increase in tire size) = 8.85".
Other than the rear axle, everything else has lifted 3.25" total with the tires and suspension modification. I don't remember what the numbers are, but if you want me to measure a certain area like the frame, skid plates, etc....let me know.
Visually, it's a very nice improvement. It looks very natural.
Tony1911 03-18-2009, 03:34 AM Seems to me that all Jeeps should come from the factory 2" to 4" higher. :)
- George - 03-18-2009, 08:02 AM 8.85" axle clearance, thanks:smiley_thumbs_up:

but we'd miss out on the fun then.
RZ350 03-18-2009, 12:13 PM Nice unit, I looked at a Liberty, but like all the other Jeeps I tried, I didn't fit. I find it funny that the smallest Jeep suv is the only one I fit in. Things that make you go Hmmmm.
jeepmuck 03-18-2009, 12:46 PM The new Liberty looks so much better with a lift and bigger tires! Nice color choice, too!
