awesome video! that one hump that the Patriots were able to get over (with a little bit of hanging/slipping) shows how capable the Patriot is even with the ground clearance disadvantage. i would love trying to see a Rav4, CR-V, Escape, or any of the Korean models do that.

Hey JB,
Great video, wish I was able to make it. It does let us know what the Pat's are capable of doing. I can tell you that we all appreciate you posting it. Hope to see you guys next time.

When I was in CO, a guy there asked me if I'd ever taken my Pat to the Badlands in Indiana, since he found that was where I was from. Didn't know it was so popular:-)

Best - trailride - video- Ever!!

Fantastic job filming everything Joe. Mega props! I never thought me and my Patriot could look so good on camera! This is totally going on my facebook.

And how neat is it that the last trailride is right there in "related videos?" :)

Great job Joe!:smiley_thumbs_up: I am glad to be a part of it. I'll have to show Dan the video next time he's over.

I hope we can get alot more Patriots to go to the next trail ride we have. They will not be disappointed.

Well done Joe. :smiley_thumbs_up:

Can anyone find a video of a CR-V doing that? :D

Looks like a lot more fun than a visit to the tax man (whoops--tax person)!

And that was just 5 mins out of nearly 5 hours of amazing 4x4 extreme! No damage whatsoever on this trip... unlike the last when I got about 50 clearcoat scratches. The best part??? I estimate that I used about 4 gallons of gasoline... tops.

There is going to be a spring trail ride. And I'll be there for sure. Could be Badlands, Land Between Lakes, Natural Bridge, or who knows where else. It seems to me that this sort of thing is WHY I bought a Jeep patriot. I doubt I'm alone in this belief. I'm working on making a social group right now. Everyone who's been involved and interested will get an invite. Anybody else can just pm me and ill invite you as well. You should get notified the next time we start to organize a trail ride. I guess that's how it works. Stand by.

Edit: nevermind on the invites. That's not how it works. Look in the social groups area to join. Or look in this forum section.

I may be speaking for myself only, but in my honest opinion, this is the best Patriot video I have seen online yet! F-ing great job man! That is what a Jeep can do! No joke, it brought a tear to my eyes.

That's a very nice thing to say, DJ. I guess the world of youtube will determine if that is in fact the best patriot video ever. Personally, I watched the video about 10 time in a row before I finally closed the browser. I'm trying to get my non-patriot friends to watch the video. They see my pat parked in the lot at work each day, but I don't think they understand exactly what it is. Maybe now they will.

Thanks. I wanted to take more video but my 1GB SD card was full before halfway through the day. We don't have any video of the gravel dunes (the sand in the video is just a "little" sand pile in the quarry area).

It is holding steady at 4.5 stars with 110 views. We must have been doing something right. :smiley_thumbs_up:

Very nice!!! Looks like somebody really is aiming for patriot of the month. Can we start nominating for next month yet?

Really, very nice video, entertaining and illustrates the capabilities of the pat alongside other rigs.

5 stars, two thumbs up.:smiley_thumbs_up:

I've been showing the video to all of my local friends! They don't know much about jeeps but they think it's a great video all around. The patriots' mud-buggin PLUS the rockcrawler rigs were a great combo.

They especially liked Will's commentary about me! LOL.

Thanks Joe, but from the very first time we went with Jeeps.... I mean Panda till this last trailride you have definitely have become more confident. You had me doing more challenging stuff than I have been doing. I figured if he made it why not me?

Maybe we all are getting braver each time we go and seeing what it's going to take before we say "oh I'm really stuck now" But hey that's why we go out in a group and sometimes getting stuck is half of the fun.;) It was pretty cool watching Dan winch the Cheerokee out of that big mud hole.

Joe, just a reminder check your air filter and air box. I filled mine with mud and water again this time and also got the filter just a bit. I think it was from that one deep puddle I hit. At least the horn is still working this time (after it dried out).

I think at some point one of us will hold the other back and say "don't do it! Your Jeep is still brand new!!"

Good idea on the air filter. I'll check it tomorrow. If it is in fact in need of replacement, than a reuseable K&N filter will be in order.

Speaking of filters, I installed the cabin filter Joebecker gave me. You guys weren't lieing when you said it was easy as hell to install. And dare I say the differance is very noticeable! I love it!

now, it's about time you tri-state MK's got lifted so you can give the steeper rocks a go on the next trail ride.

Honestly, my lifted FDII would get down, and probably up the ledge that the green and red cherokee's were climbing. Although I did really notice the speed difference the FDI and FDII have. The FDI's seem to need to keep momentum going.

I got a surprise in the works! Can't wait to post a link to it!

Will and firemothjoe did not go up that route, but they did get up there. In the video of the red and green Cherokees (climbing the 2nd tier), I was standing next to Will's ride (his avatar picture).
Will's tracks are to the left (disappear into the ledge) of where they are climbing the first tier. The path that Will took to the second tier is to the left off the picture.

Next time I am going to need to bring a couple of SD cards so that I can get more video. It also did not help that it was raining several times while climbing. I did not want to get soaked. :)

TADA!

I finally had some time last night to slap together a slide show of all the pics I took. Some of them turned out pretty good. There's lots with Joebecker and Dan in there. Gotta run. A beautiful St. Patty's day like this means a LOT of hiking with the dog today. Enjoy!

Can you email me the original pictures of my charge up the hill.
I really like the one at the 2:56 mark of the video.

Let me know if you would like me to burn you a CD and mail you the originals of what I took.

Yep, filter was all dusty and was turning a shade of gray. So, I decided to bite the bullet and get a K&N. $50 but worth it if I'm gonna trash my air filter every trail ride. So now what I'll do is take it out and rinse it off after every trail ride. I know there's a dozen threads about the k&n air filters but I surely do like the way this one "feels" when I drive now.

Will H

Let me know if the K&N filter makes an oily residue in the air inlet pipe between the filter and the throttle body. I was wondering how they are and now we can see if it makes a difference at the next trail ride. I may have to get one too if it helps climb some of those steep hills.

The RRO lift kit is ordered and should be here in a couple of weeks (none in stock). I should have it on sometime next month and ready for the next trail ride. I'll take some pics when I install the kit.

Can't wait to see it Will! I think maybe early May might be a good time to start preparing for the next ride.
