Well, just got back from the dealership for the above check-up. If you look in your maintenance manual, this is a somewhat biggie. BRAKES!!!
Didn't come out too bad...
$56.00 Lube, Oil, Filter, rotate tires.
Inboard air filter(the one behind the glove box)- $6.00
Brakes-60.00, rear needed adjusting. 60% of front pads are still alive and 75% of rear are still there.
That annoying clicking in the steering column when you are turning FREE-Clock spring replacement tho Im not quite sure its completly gone;.

Even if you have rear discs the parking brake is a set of shoes, that will periodically need adjusting. Basically in the rear the raised 'hub' section of the rotor is a miniature drum with shoes in it for the parking brake.

so the parking brake needs adjustment then i.c.
my parking brake works on like the second click, does it need adjustment then so it works fully on the first. or is it fine then?

Don't ask me...I just spend the 60 bucks and let them walk all over me.
For the life of me, I thought they needed to adjust the rear brakes...didnt know they are talking about a parking break adjustment tho it does seem to have a little more 'umph' to it when I pull it up. Aren't there small wheels with teeth within the brake assembly you can spin that adjust the brakes? Or was that stuff from 20 years ago that is no longer applicable.
The invoice says, 1 Brake Lube
1 Brake cleaner
39020 Service rear brakes 0.50, and adjusted as necessary.
Im starting to get a gut feeling I got ripped off.:(
Why those little................

wow, they charged for the brake cleaner? Soon they'll be charging us for the techs to be wearing gloves and masks so they don't get the brake dust in their lungs.
I'd be all over the service adviser on that.

i think what ur referring to is for drum brakes lol
and them actually charging for brake lube and cleaner is B.S. because it doesnt take a whole bottle of lube on the brakes and it definitely not a whole bottle of cleaner on the rear end alone, let alone 2 cars front and rear end lol

Ok, its confirmed...I got f_kng ripped off.
Ya know, I stopped going to this dealership (same one I bought it from), for the regular oil changes and tire rotation because there was one closer. The only exception being when there was warranty work i wanted done.
I decided to take it there this time around, because the 40K checkup was a little more involved.
Id like to find out, from Chrysler's head office themselves, if they feel this dealership is taking advantage of people in this manner through this unwarranted P.M repair. You think they will be honest with me?
I knew one thing going in there, if it needed pads etc, I wanted them to provide me a quote, and I was going to take it to Midas, etc. for a 2nd opinion, and a chance to beat it.
Its no wonder there is so much scepticism with dealerships..they bring it on themselves.
To all you Greater Toronto Area owners...Bannerman Motors on Don Mills Rd, South of Lawrence:loser1:

I second that.....DON'T GO TO BANNERMAN'S!!!!!!!
I had a horrible experience there too!
I'm just over 65k and I didn't get too much done at my appt. all they did was a front end alignment (as i noticed it pulling to the right)...other then that oil and filter and tire rotation.
