See owner manual,( only have Compass manual from online, but should be the same) Seat Belts, in Section 2, around page 45.

"To disengage the mini latch from the mini buckle for
storage, insert the regular latch plate into the black
button on the top of the mini buckle. The belt will
automatically retract to its stowed position."

Its very easy, but be careful when the belt retracts not to let it go and hit the window.

We dont use it, we have it unhooked. If you look at it where it buckles in you can use the other end of the belt to unhook it. Its sorta like a regular belt thing but you have to use something to unhook it you cant just use your hands. It has a little area on the belt showing you I think. When you get it unhooked there is two little slots in the back that you put the hooks in so they dont rattle around. If you need pictures let me know. I hope I made since lol.

yeah except the one thing I cant figure out about that seatbelt...
is why are there two holes for the latches to fit into in the trunk when only one can fit?

They both fit...but you have to twist the belt....kinda dumb i think - but better than it rattling around.

I just put the smaller buckle in the lower hole and it doesn't rattle around

You dont have to twist the belt.

You put the little one in the top, then the big one in the bottom

No problem. I had to fool with it for a few min to figure it out the first time. The guy from the dealership told me the holes where for hangers, I had to go back a few days later and I showed him what they where really for. lol

I unhook them and put them in the slots when I do the PDI. Subaru had the same thing.

Thanks for the heads-up! I couldn't figure out what the bottom hole was for, either! Its a bit of a tight squeeze for the big buckle, but I guess thats what keeps in a place, as when I just put the smaller one in the top hole, it had a tendency to come loose.
