: First Patriot Problem. Faulty window switch.

After about 1 month of owning my Limited Jeep patriot, my drivers side rear window would not move at all wether i controlled it from drivers panel or in the rear. If i would move my windows around frequently then they would all freeze up and the only way to get my remaining three working windows to move back up into the up position was to shut off the car and restart it and the windows would work for a couple seconds of operation.

I dropped the Jeep off at the service department and it turns out during assembly that the pins that hold on the bracket for the window switches were never installed so the bracket for my switches was hanging and becoming disconnected when i would open/shut doors and move window switches frequently. The service department mounted the switch bracket appropriately and i havnt had any trouble since. If anyone else has this problem then this might be the cause, its nothing major but its good to know and look out for.

had mine in today for window problem myself. the front passenger window would squeal like a banchee when i rolled it down. turned out that there is a lubicating bracket on somekind that didn't have any lube in it. not a big deal to fix, and now it works great

On the drivers window switch for all 4.
The driver window switch has the green light in it, and it lights up at night.
The other 3 have the little glass where the green light shines, but none of the other 3 light up, is that right?

Mine only has the driver's switch light up. Noticed it a few days ago.

Me Three. is this a defect? Should it be this way? If so why bother having the lights there to begin with?

I don't think it is a defect.

On mine, only the driver's lights up. This makes it look pretty stupid. All should light up if they're going to put green clear plastic in all of them. Has anyone asked the dealer if this is right. I'm going in this Friday to get to bottom....

Ditto - same here!

Ratman482 let us know what you find out. Next time I go in for service (1-2 weeks from now) I'll ask too, though I've got a feeling that the dealers will just scratch their heads on this one too and have to defer the question to Jeep.

It happened again! my windows dont work again! it starts with the rear drivers side and then all the windows freeze up and can only go up after i restart the car. im going to drop it at the service department later this week. This is becoming a real pain for me.
