Hey all, the name's Tim. I'm a Pittsburgh native though I attend school in Northwestern Pa in Clarion. I'm an avid outdoors enthusiast who commonly explores the Laurel HIghlands region and I'm involved in just about every adventurous activity around; camping, climbing, caving, backpacking, geocaching, hiking, cliff jumping, canoeing, and of course Jeeping! My current rig is a 95 ZJ Grand Cherokee... 4.0l, 231 T-case, 2" lift, 31's, skids, ARB bull bar bumper, MileMarker hydraulic winch, Surco roof rack, four APC lights on the roof, two Baja lights on the bumper, Flowmaster 40 series exhaust, JKS Quick Disconnects, and a custom military Willy's "tribute" look. It's a real head turner and I love it to death, but at 199,000 miles she's starting to show her age and it's hard to depend on her as a DD especially with the long distances and rough miles my friends and I put on her with our excursions. I started looking for a small car as a DD but when I heard about the Patriot I knew it was perfect: I could stick to the Jeep brand, be able to still access some rough terrain without hiking extra miles, have enough space to haul a week to a weekend's worth of gear for a few guys, not have the issues of high milage 10 year old vehicle, and get great gas milage. All within a college student budget! Of course it's no replacement for my ZJ, but with a daily driver like the Patriot I can really dedicate the ZJ to the trails like I want to.

My 98 XJ has close to 225,000 miles with the 4.0. Hopefully, you'll be as lucky as I am. My XJ is showing its age, but it is chugging along. I'm hoping for a minimum of 300,000 miles, but I, too, like the Patriot.
