Picked it up yesterday. Dealer told me 4 weeks ago it would be in on May 10, and it showed 2 days early. 4x4 Black Sport model, Boston Acoustic speakers (worth it), Yes essentials fabric seats, 17 inch wheels and Goodyears, steering wheel audio controls, CVT Freedom I.
Drives beautifully, quiet, smooth, nicely engineered. Comfortable seats front and back. Very cool to recline in the back.
I think they will eventually reprogram the transmission though, because it tends to let the engine race a bit too much, as in when you are on the highway and want to increase speed a little, the engine goes up to 3,500 rpm. It's just a little excessive.
Other den dat, itz byoot-e-ful.
I hope everyone who is waiting gets their's soon, and those who have their Patriots are as satisfied as I am.

My rpms never get to high I got it with 7 miles on it and have never went higher than 3.5. I have noticed after I got past about 1000 or so miles it had a bit more pick up and lower rpms I could be crazy or maybe its the engine breaking in who knows.

Its normal to get high rpm's with a cvt.

...I think they will eventually reprogram the transmission ...
Is it possible that the transmission will behave differently as it ages...? Like maybe the CVT also needs to go through a break-in period...? I guess in a few years we'll know.
At any rate, congratulations on your new ride!

I did not know that if the dealership had to, they could reprogramm the transmission. I am about to get my Patriot tomorrow and after having test driven it, I just thought to myself, "I will get over it".
