I always tell people - If you find yourself scraping up the bottom on the roads you drive, you need the lift. My hitch and muffler have scrapes all over them, but I hit them much less often now.

I can't think of why you'd lift it if you haven't scraped up the bottom yet.

well going over the occasional curb or mound of earth I have scraped maybe once or twice and my tires are only 16s. So im not really sure if investing in a lift would be worth it

Whether the reason is cosmetics or capability the word from the Chrysler engineers at the SEMA Show in Vegas was that MOPAR would be offering a 2 1/2" lift kit for the Patriot this year.

hello it is not necesary a 4x4 in the power of your patriot, i it clogs me in the sand of a beach the last weekend and i was to scary about it it was on the dark night and i put the ebs botton control and pur reverse and accelerate around the 4000 to 4500 revolution per minute to get out there, and i make it without problems.

2.5" lift hmmmmm.
so they really aren't that concerned about cv joint wear then.
Or maybe it wont wear 'em out with the lift.??
If so, i'll add another 1/2 inch spacer on top of the rro lift hehehe

A lift provides more ground clearance. 2WD or 4WD is a matter of traction for acceleration. They are different an unique aspects. Besides, that, most people that install lift kits on their vehicles (all kinds) do it for the look in combination with larger tires.

and you don't think it'll be Mopar rebranding and marking up the RRO lift? Just like Mopar sells Thule racks...

Who cares, it will give one more warranty protection to stand on if it was a Mopar kit and installed at the dealer. Downside is they will charge 2x as much for both the kit and labor.

It definitely will be a re-badging, but it won't be the RRO kit.

nothing on this blog says Mopar is providing a Patriot lift. It says they're going to start offering Mopar lifts for Jeeps.

as if they'd start with the Patriot...

only mopar OEM parts,
there is a difference between Mopar OEM,
which includes most replacement parts,
and Mopar performance parts,
which includes, as is says performance parts,
anything from turbo's, CAI's, performance wires, race ready parts, etc..
all the good stuff is usually under Mopar performance, and not covered under warranty,

It's a 2009 Pat with two wheel drive. Needed a bigger back seat for family use than my much loved 2004 Mazda B3000. Before that I had a Cherokee, before that a CJ, so I feel like I need to more inches of height to see better, feel safer. Comfort zone I guess.
