Its time for the voting! The top FOUR nominees that you picked are included for this month's vote. There was a wide variety of nominees logged. I'm glad to see people are catching on with nominating two members. It makes the tally a little bit easier to handle. Next month be sure to get both of your nominees in.

The voting will be one week and will end on Saturday, February 28th at 6:00pm EST.

Best of luck in becoming our newest POTM!

Be sure to follow the link to see more about each nominees ride!

Not too many beautiful vistas to take pictures at around Indianapolis. :D
It is just too bad that the picture seems to make such a big difference in number of votes that you receive. Oh well, 0-7...

I didn't have a good photo when I was nominated. I drove down to the Twin Cities, to Minnetonka (where I grew up) and shot the photo at Excelsior commons with Lake Minnetonka in the background. I made a special effort to get the lighting just right by waiting for the correct time of day so I could get the glint of sparkle off of the shiny spots.

It does seem that the photo makes big a difference. I'm curious if placement in the order makes a difference? Does the first person on the list win the most? You have almost always been 3rd in the order.

I guess if it requires a terrific photo to win I am not all that interested in winning.
I am content to enjoy my Jeep and this site despite the fact that my life does not consist of riding trails, taking awe inspiring photos, and anything else that is more a "Jeep Thing".

I purchased a Patriot because it was the best vehicle for me. I like the look, enjoy the drive, and am happy with good MPG.
I participate on this site because I am excited about our vehicles, enjoy the conversation, and like to help others when I can.

To those that keep putting my name in the hat: please stop nominating me.
Pick someone who is trully interested in trying to impress you with really great pictures of trail rides, awe inspiring vistas, lifts, bigger tires, other great modifications, etc.

I would suggest rdunlap, apparently he wants the opportunity to wow you.

Congratulations Heckler. :smiley_thumbs_up:

I guess one of the POTM nomination and voting problem is that itīs not clear what POTM stands for.
Is it Patriot images? People seems to like Patriot images in cool environments or Pats in offroad action.
Or is it board activity? Is the member helpfull...does he check the board frequently and so on.
Or is it Patriot modding? Posts about modifications lifting and such thing..

I for myself wished that JeoBecker would have won this months. Well itīs still possible but seems unlikely if you check the current votes.
That doesnīt mean that Heckler wouldnīt deserved it too. In fact he deserved it and iīm pretty sure that Octazcat and Deres are also qualified to be POTM. Maybe not yet but later.
I guess some of you are right if people makes votes because of the Patriot image they found on the the voting list. And then yes Joe falls behind the other nominees.

So here is my suggestion for the next POTM nomination/votings:

The nominated members need to post a new image and a short introduction of himself.

Just my 2 cents.

What does POTM stands for?? I think it rewards the most active member of the forum for the specific month's activity, no matter if it is about modding, lifting, swaybar discusion, event organization, you name it. IMO, sharing know-how about technical stuff counts most because it helps others - and we all know that most users here search for this kind of information.
Joe is one of the oldest members at this forum and probably he is the most qualified from us 4 nominees to win this POTM. Few here know more about Patriot's electrics and wiring than him and few are so willing to share this knowledge with others... It's at least sad and unfair that some of you judge him from a picture, especially senior members who know very well who Joe is and what has he contributed here.
Heckler is also a great poster at this forum, his field is mostly off-roading tech information and that has been appreciated from - what seems to be the majority of this forum - the off road Jeep hard-cores.
I myself "live" at the sway bar (Oktazkat too), I simply enjoy this forum and the great people I've met here. I don't expect to be rewarded as a POTM because I have never helped anybody to solve any problem at all. I see my self as an entertainer and that's it...

Haven't solved any problems? Don't sell yourself short Deres. You solved one of the most annoying problems here. Instead of fighting the dome leaks you suggested a way to embrace it with your roof mounted pool.

Joe, except the photo issue, one more thing that POTM's use to do lately, is shortening their names. For example, Brndnlee2074 changed it to Copper, PolishedHeckler changed it to simply Heckler. Maybe it's time for you to shorten yours to "Joe" or "Becker" as a last effort ;)

Maybe JoeB? or JB? or J?

If it's going to cause hard feelings, the contest can very easily be eliminated.

POTM is whatever you want it to be. If you like trail riders who take tons of scenic pictures, nominate/vote accordingly. If you like guys who tinker with electronics and gadgets, nominate/vote accordingly. If you simple like the color red, nominate/vote accordingly.

While it may seem unfair that users with flashy photos have been winning the contest more often, the fact of the matter is that your fellow members only know as much about you as you are willing to post. Images convey a lot of details in a short period of time, but may not tell the whole story. Unfortunately, this site is global and we do not have the opportunity to get to know eachother on an intimate level. Pictures are about the closest we can come to knowing one another.

Gaze, I don't have any hard feelings for how people vote.

It is not going to make me if I win nor break me if I lose.

I'm not interested in PTOM of the month to be honest with you.Atleast to how its referred to on this site. On cardomain I would be interested in that title. I think its somewhat of a joke to people on the outside (from other car forums where you get the title by having modified or something different)when they see a list of damn near stock patriot of the months. it should be "poster of the month" in my opinion... or maybe "opinion of the month":)

I'll throw my two cents in here. I completely agree with Deres. I don't give a horses hiney what someone has done to their Patriot, how much they've lifted it, what the wheels or tires look like, how muddy they get it, how murdered out it looks, the stickers they put on it, how much they spent on a new stereo, blah, blah, blah, blah. I like to read about and see pics of the things people do to personalize their Patriots but it doesn't make their Patriot better or any more worthy of POTM. I vote based on what that person has contributed to the forum. Many people posting here don't have the ability or funds to do some of the mods others have done so does that mean they aren't worthy to ever be POTM winner? According to some of you the answer would be yes. If you base your vote simply on pics that someone posts then IMHO that's pretty shallow and you're not opening yourself to all the wonderful people who post here. I'm here in this world trying to be a good person and give back something to the community and those are things I look for in other people.

I'm voting Heckler 'cuz he DESERVES it. He took the time to measure the holes for his FDII tow hooks, front and back, so that those of us who wanted to attempt this mod had some good data... and it was GREAT data.
He's also a regular contributor, and sends lots of videos clearly demonstrating the Pat's capabilities.

I'd like to encourage everyone to build a "signature thread" or "build thread" that documents their progress on their Jeep similar to what I have in my signature below. It helps people idenitfy just what new and innovative ideas you have and it's common place on a lot of other automotive forums.
