hey i just got my sport 4x4 5spd last week and i love it so far. the only thing that bothers me is the extremely cheap feel of the shift knob. my last car was a mazda3 with a leather wrapped knob and i loved it. are there any aftermarket shift knobs out there yet to solve my issue?

congrats on the new Pat! Do you have the chrome top on the shift knob? The knop is typical of cars in its class. Yes my VW had a leather wrapped one and the plastic grip on the front of the Pat's shifter provides good grip but doesn't feel right. Also the plastic boot is inelegant. I'm sure I will be able to get aftermarket knobs and soon a nice leather boot if so inclined. Right now they are fine.

I'd like to find a wooden shift knob for my 5-speed, with a Jeep logo or the shift pattern engraved thereon - the stock one feels ok to me but some wood in there might balance all the chromy stuff...

It would take some investigating on the thread pitch but you could try purchasing a MT shift knob from another chrysler product like the Sebring, or Ram Truck.

I used to have a leather wrapped knob on my Mustang that had a silver top with the gear pattern engraved. That was the ultimate piece
