Hi Guys.

I have seen a similar post on the general discussion board, but just wanting to know what us Aussies are paying for insurance on the Riot. I have to re-new mine by the end of feb. My current insurer is charging me $935.00.

G'day,

$935.00 sounds steep to me. Who is it with?

How old are you?
Any accidents before owning the Pat?

I'm with RAC.
40K agreed value not market value, $490 per year.

For the first year it was 4.2% from value of the car or 975EUR per year!

Im 27, no accidents or anything. currently with AAMI. Been looking around and all of the insurers (Allianz, RACV, GIO, Just car insurance and even Shannons) range between $1000 to $3000. Found one yesterday, Bingle.com.au, for $644 - cheapest i can find.

I am also trying to find quotes for insurance. They're going to charge you $200 to $300 more for the turbo diesel insurance. Best I've come up with is $930 for the sport diesel through Bingle and then upwards to $2,300 odd from NRMA again with the sport diesel.

$85 per month.
If the car is totalled in the first 2 years, full replacment
After that i'm going agreed value.
