: I Want My Patriot Now!
johnshan93 05-01-2007, 08:40 PM Had to order our Patriot...no dealers around have any..in fact we had to drive an hour away just to test drive a sport..Our order went in yesterday to the factory will be 6-8 weeks of waiting...We Ordered the Limited 4x4,steel blue, manual with all the goodies(my husbands doing ...all I wanted was the sunroof) he had to have the gps/premium soundsystem/uconnect.etc.etc.etc
I had an 86 cherokee-my camping rig... that I greatly miss...the subaru just aint doing it for me anymore....need to get back into a jeep...The Patriot looks to be the one for me....Just hate waiting!!
Belveder 05-01-2007, 10:08 PM Congratulations.I ordered mine March the 12th and today my dealer called me to let me know that it should be delivered sometimes later next week.He said he HOPES.I asked him for more detailed info like the special code but he is either very simple or lazy and didn't offer me any extra info.
I hope you won't have to wait as long as myself.

I'm not surprised to see that you're in Washington state. For some reason, the Patriots aren't making it up here. This past weekend we checked at several Seattle-area Jeep dealerships and still none in stock! I have yet to even see one. It's now May and these things supposedly went into production in December...
srothfuss 05-02-2007, 07:51 AM They're not making it anywhere except into new owners hands!
Congratulations on you new Patriot - it sounds like the one I am waiting for from my dealer.
Roninshinobi 05-02-2007, 10:07 AM Welcome to the board. Sorry to hear your Patriot has not come in, but know your patients will be well rewarded.
johnshan93 05-02-2007, 10:27 AM We placed our order out of state...through Dave Smith in Kellogg Idaho.(about 300 miles from me)..They are the Worlds Largest Jeep Dealership In the world for the 4th Year now...And he didnt even have any limiteds on the lot ...quite a few sports that were loaded with goodies...but we wanted a limited...my brother in law bought his wrangler through them a few years ago...and raves about them...He saved about $5k compared to the local dealerships around here...so far we are saving about $2k...maybe more when the jeep is delivered. we are trying them out..so far no complaints They advertise to Washington Oregon and Idaho...

Did you have to pay both WA and ID state sales tax?
johnshan93 05-02-2007, 01:03 PM I would assume just one or the other...hadnt even thought of it....I will check and get back with you
johnshan93 05-02-2007, 01:22 PM You pay the tax for the state you are registering the car...in my case Washington state 8.9%
polka 05-02-2007, 01:25 PM When buying a vehicle out of state, there is usually a sales tax reciprocity between states. WA's sales tax rate is 6.50 and ID's is 6.00. Both these states have reciprocity. So I believe that you will pay 6.00 to ID and .50 to WA.
Alex Norwood 05-02-2007, 08:16 PM Driving to Manassas, VA from Columbia, SC the day after tomorrow to pick up mine! YIPPPEEE!!
Description below and taking the camera to post photos Saturday!!!
Will be nice to have time to play with all the nav and sirius stuff on the 8-10 hour drive back. Will take all back roads to get home. The more remote the better and mountainous, I hope.
Will have read the entire owners manual and played with every function by then.
Will have to DETOUR on some dirt road OF COURSE.
Will be paying SC tax - 6% i think, but does't matter it caps out at $300 for ALL new cars, title, and transfering tag. Nothing goes to the VA tax people.
Alex Norwood 05-13-2007, 11:07 AM Tried to post these to the gallery, but never finishes uploading.
