Very few in the boards so far. In lots of notes. No patterns so far. As for my car zero defects, zero problems.

No problems so far other than my DRL not coming on. But I';m going to the local dealer in my area to have them activated soon.

Here's my list so far:

Squeak in dash (fixed)
DRLs not functional (can be fixed using the Canadian workaround)
Door striker needs adjustment
The rubber cover over the fuel lines has come off (not sure if this was to be removed during pre-delivery prep)
Slight pull to the right since delivery (Service wants to wait until suspension settles in before adjusting)
Left half of seat cushion does not heat
MPG has not been what I expected (so far)

I was washing our Patriot the other day and noted that the black plastic molding along the bottom of the windshield was not securely fixed to the other piece of plastic molding that is slightly under the hood (to bridge the gap between the hood and the windshield. It was NOT the seal for the windshield--just the piece that attaches to the part in between the hood and the windshield. Anyway, took it back to the dealership and they snapped it back into place. She showed me how to do it myself because she felt it wasn't a particularly good design and that it was likely to happen again. She verified that it didn't have anything to do with the seal of the windshield, but I will be keeping a close eye on it. I am in the Pacific Northwest, so there is a lot of water here in the winter to test the windshield seal!

3500 miles, and no issues yet (Limited, FDII, CVT2). I recently did some heavy off roading. When washing, noticed the passenger side panel, just below the doors was loose. Took it to the dealer, and they fixed it w/o problems. They said that I must have jarred it loose with the off roading. It is pretty solid so far.

No issues thus far. Mine just turned 2,000 miles. I noticed an improvement in fuel mileage after 1,500 miles. I am now getting close to the 23 mpg's for city driving. I did a highway trip last week and got 26 mpg's.

Mine's in the shop right now for what's probably a stuck solenoid valve on the transmission. The engine light came on (about 650 miles on odometer) when I was on the expressway Friday; I took it in Monday and they told me it was a "ghost error code" that they cleared and that nothing was wrong.

I got 20 miles down the expressway today and the engine light came back on; I turned around and went right to the dealers. I got a different technician this time and he told me the computer indicated a "P0741 Torque Converter Clutch, No RPM Drop at Lockup" problem, "the same problem as last time". I'm driving a 2.0L Caliber loaner right now (it's not impressive).

A quick google found lots of info:

http://www.allpar.com/fix/computer-codes.html

http://www.transmissionspecialty.com/parts/parts/37000-03.htm

I don't know why the tech didn't tell me all of this the first time; I think I may be taking the Patriot to another dealership for future servicing if they're going to keep me in the dark like this.

Update after my service visit last week.

Door striker needs adjustment. - Service writer argued that it didn't seem that difficult to close and that she has a Compass that shuts with the same effort. She relented and tech adjusted the striker. Hasn't malfunctioned since.:smiley_thumbs_up:

The rubber cover over the fuel lines has come off (not sure if this was to be removed during pre-delivery prep) Service had no clue what it was for, but zip-tied it back into place.

Slight pull to the right since delivery (Service wants to wait until suspension settles in before adjusting) Put the vehicle on the alignment rack and noted the toe was off slightly. Readjusted. Car still pulled to the right on the drive home.

Left half of seat cushion does not heat Service writer argued that the heaters are held on with double-sided tape and can only go on one way, so there wasn't much that could go wrong. Tech determined left side of cushion was much slower to warm than right. Ordered a new heating element.

MPG has not been what I expected (so far) Still hovering around 23 AVG on highway. Sometimes it shoots up to 27. Odd.

Oh, and my DRLs now work, of course.

Just encountered my first Patriot problem....

power door locks work fine when auto locking (driving above 15mph) and when pressing the lock button on the driver's side door. But locking/unlocking via remote stopped working. I hear a "click" like it started to (but that click isn't as loud / long as when it actually locks), but the it doesn't actually lock.

I'll have them take a look at it when I bring it in for an oil change.

update:
Now when I try the remote key.... nothing. Not even a click. Out of curiosity, I tried my wife's key... no problem. I'm wondering if the battery is dead. So I will replace it and try again.

That is strange - the battery in the key should last for a few years I would think....

I had a small leak above the rear cargo area, the dealership had a company called "water doctor" work on it today and they say its fixed, I got to the dealer to late too talk to the tech or service writer about what the specific problem was so I'll just have too wait and see I suppose.

Other then that, the Patriot has been a great little truckster.

Slight pull to the right since delivery

My Patriot has the same issue and I've read about it elsewhere...

After hitting the off road trails, I have noticed my patriot has started to pull to the right as well. Now, I am hearing noise coming from the right front tire. It sounds like I may have blown the right front strut. I am taking it in to the dealer to get it looked at. I didn't expect this from Jeep. Will post results tomorrow.

Hey silvermike,
The local dealer checked things out. Turns out a bracket on the right stability arm broke. I asked if it was related to 4 wheeling, and he didn't think so. The pat is running smooth, no pull, no noise, just smooth sailing. Plus, DCX picked up the tab! No complaints here.:smiley_thumbs_up:

Thanks jucharlie! Great information and pictures! I wish I was closer to New Mexico / Southern Colorado as it seems that entire area is Jeep Trails! Did you get to see the bracket and where it was located?

silvermike, nope. I dropped off the patriot, returned to work, got a call about 2 hours later. It still runs smooth. There are plenty of trails out here! If you are ever in the area, let me know. I will take you to the trails!
