i´ve read that the interior plastic quality looks somewhat cheap.
So how do you think about it after driving the Patriot for a while?
Do you have more scratches on it than other cars.
Is it solid or does it rattle when driving?

No rattles. no scratches. Quality is appropriate for the price class. Only note of discord is a seam on the center console. The seam goes around the side where the console sticks up on the dash. Very visible to the driver. Neatly lined up but it should not be there.

I have to keep reminding myself that this is a cheap SUV and should not be compared with a US $30000 car. For your reference (Germany) it is of similar quality of material to a low end VW (Jetta / Golf) with assembly at least on par.

thing is that i need to wait until autumm before first Patriots arrive here in germany. I know now that you can get the Compass here but last time i checked our Jeep dealer there wasn´t one.

I don't really understand the criticism of the interior materials. The Patriot's interior isnt the best I have seen, however it is far from the worst. Recently I have been in a few GM and Ford vehicles and the interior was completely awful. I think it is appropriate for the price point of this car. Also, lets remember that this is a Jeep. If people want the interior of a BMW, then they should buy a BMW.

Yeah, I've been given up on trying to figure that out. Even when asked for specifics, they can't quantify it.

The interior is what sold me on the car. I have two small children and let me tell you its so easy to just wipe clean! So far it doesn't seem to attract as much dust as our car so I think its going to be better on our allergies. You don't have to use special cleaners for the dash a damp cloth and mr clean magic eraser works just fine. I think its totally perfect for jeeps considering your prob going to get it dirty. No scratches, rattles here.
