: 15k km service
Just went to get my patriot from de 15000km service, so it's time to tell/compare the prices :) here goes:
15000km labor: 2hours - 63.28€
oil: Castrol TXT Softec 5w40, 4,5l, -110.74€ (synthetic)
oil filter - 7.94€
air filter - 17.44€
pollen filter - 19.85€
bat and washer - 1.62€
taxes - 46.49€
Total - - 267.36€
it wasn´t very expensive, it's the normal cost here... but what do you think about this numbers?
tiptronic 02-03-2009, 10:38 AM My Uk Handbook says Engine Air filter change First time at 45,000 km. Did you pay for an early change because Portugal has dustier conditions than the UK???
- George - 02-03-2009, 07:24 PM 15,000km first service hey, we gotta do it at 10,000km here.......?
Aus Patriot 02-03-2009, 07:30 PM VB yep 10,000km here.
The 15,000km service is the VW spec interval service.
Our Jetta TDI with the same engine as ours was 15,000km service.
Our air filter got changed at the 20,000km service. Been hitting the tracks and a lot of the red dust around.
- George - 02-03-2009, 07:47 PM pretty stupid isn't it!!
Did you regularly clean the air filter before changing it at 20k?
Aus Patriot 02-03-2009, 11:38 PM Yep it was cleaned at the 10,000km service but needed changing at 20,000km.
They gave the engine bay a wash also. it was red like the sun :-)
Tony1911 02-04-2009, 02:55 AM Total - - 267.36€
Mine was roughly the same.
the handbook says that the air filter change is at every 30.000km... but it was cleaned with 10.000k, and it was already very dirty...
maybe tiptronic is right, dustier conditions here :icon_rolleyes:
i dont understand this... why does the same jeep with the same engine, have different km range between services?
tiptronic 02-04-2009, 09:04 AM Sevice intervals on UK Diesel Pat... 15000Km about 9.000 Miles !!
Tony1911 02-05-2009, 01:49 AM i dont understand this... why does the same jeep with the same engine, have different km range between services?
Not to mention oil changes... The mechanics at the dealership swear changing oil every 15000km is just fine, regardless of what the manual says.
KemnitZ 02-05-2009, 06:06 AM Here in Latvia 2.0CRD oil change and overall maintnance is every 15.000km. So on my second (first is advisable) maintenance it was oil, oil filter, air filter and cabin air filter changed. Now is 26.200km on and had to be added 1L oil and changed rear left shock absorber.
- George - 02-05-2009, 07:20 AM how dumb are these dealerships, all you guys in EU are told 15k, we here down under gotta do it at 10k for the same car! stooopid....
Aus Patriot 02-05-2009, 07:25 AM If you ask me 15,000k's is way to much.
I prefer the 10,000km service intervals.
And I actually change the oil every 5,000km on our Pat. Especially because the Pat gets a good run in the bust at least 2 times a month.
These machines like nothing better than clean clean oil and a filter. Treat it nice and 200,000km wont be a problem.
- George - 02-05-2009, 03:54 PM hmm, yeah 15k sounds too much.
i've just changed the oil recently (done 5k) and plan on doing it in between services till i get sick of it...
tiptronic 02-05-2009, 04:16 PM Dont forget ,you get hotter dustier conditions in Oz than we get here. Plus the Brits dont have the history or culture of short miles oil changes. With modern synthetic oils most Brits are quite happy with 10.000--12,000 mile changes!!
Boy George 02-24-2009, 08:09 PM The petrol engine oil change limit for Europe is 12.000 kms. 15.000 for diesels aint so bad compared to most new european cars having the FIRST service and oil change done at 30.000 kms!:wow:
PATRIARCHIS 04-08-2009, 10:06 AM The petrol engine oil change limit for Europe is 12.000 kms. 15.000 for diesels aint so bad compared to most new european cars having the FIRST service and oil change done at 30.000 kms!:wow:
I agree with that !!!
PATRIARCHIS 04-08-2009, 10:09 AM how dumb are these dealerships, all you guys in EU are told 15k, we here down under gotta do it at 10k for the same car! stooopid....
It's not stupid. It's clever.
They rip you off !!!
hogar 04-12-2009, 01:52 PM I am on 14.010KM. Probably will do my first service in 20-ish days so I will share prices in Montenegro.
cospas 04-14-2009, 04:55 AM Here in Greece the dealer says first service at 12000 km, with mopar synthetic oil.
