...why can't I place a shortcut to the Jeep Forums site on my desktop? Is it because I use Mozilla Firefox rather than Internet Explorer? On other sports sites that I belong to I can right-click on the page and it asks me if I want a shortcut putting on the desktop, but not on Jeep. I have to go all the way through Google__Google history (or Bookmarks)___find "Jeep" and then navigate my way here. Am I doing something wrong?

FireFox has put jeeppatriot.com at the top of my list. Some new version they came up with about 4 months back orders your history in favor of sites you visit most. That is how I get here quickly.

Sorry I can't answer your question, but I have never tried to place a link on the desktop to a speciffic internet site.

I use Internet Explorer , so I had no probs getting it on my Desktop..

OK sitting on the main forum page, FILE - Save page as - Web page complete.
I renamed it to patforum.php.htm. Save location choose desktop

closed firefox, then clicked the icon sitting on my desktop.
It will open firefox with something like file:///C:/DocumentsandSettings/username/Desktop/patforum.php.htm
So you are on a static image of the page that is stored on your desktop but as soon as you click on any individual forum link - shazam, you are in.

Not sure if this is the best method but you are most of the way there
