My wife and I decided we only need one vehicle so we traded both our cars (Pontiac Vibes) in on a white Patriot!
We are in the second week of ownership and love the ride so far. We are pleased to be getting over 25 mpg around town and are excited to see what we can get on a highway roadtrip!
We test drove several SUV's before we decided on the Patriot. We are very pleased with some of the little things, such as, the built in Sirius radio, the awesome garage door opener, and the programmable features regarding the door locks.
I even love the fact that the key fob is actually in the key!
I only have one gripe so far.....the headrests are too far forward and do not fit us in any position. I even tried to reverse them and that didn't feel good either....
Our Vibes had great seats that were one piece, all the way up.
I will post this gripe on another forum to see if anyone has a solution.... also, when i get a picture, i will post it. thanks.

Welcome to the boards. Yeah my wife had some issues with the head rest as well. I rarely lean back into my seat to use it so it doesn't bother me as much.

Congratulations! Interesting that you went from Vibes to the Patriot... I just traded my Scion xB for a Patriot, but my wife's car is a Toyota Matrix. Apparently there are some compatible design considerations between the Vibe/Matrix and the Patriot. :)
Welcome! Get some pics up!

about the headrests...can you pop 'em out and just buy some new ones?
and what are the features with the door locks?

Upon turnoff open one unlock all or not. Lock automatically when driving or not. There are some more but I just learned enough to do what I wanted. Pretty sophisticated for an inexpensive car.

Hello and thanks for the welcome...in answering some of these threads....
Yes, one of the things i liked about the Patriot that my Vibe had...the seats fold flat.....i can still put my bike in the back...
The Honda CRV and a couple of the other SUV's that we looked at had seats that folded up and were pushed forward and were in the way.....
Being able to program the way you want the key to unlock all the doors at once is a little thing that i like a lot! Also, we have it so the doors lock at 15 miles per hour....love that!
My wife is short and she loves that the driver's seat can be pumped up to allow for her height.......
I don't understand the headrest...they are too far forward and are really hard... anybody know where i can get replacements???
Also, noticed one other thing that bothers me...the second cupholder in between the seats doesn't fit ANY thing i put in there.....what were they thinking with that??? I want to glue a lid on the bottom so that it is level......
i would enjoy any responses....i am planning to take some pictures this weekend......while i watch some of the nfl draft!.............

FYI funny Pontiac Vibe story. Friend of mine brought the car in because of a minor problem with the wipers stopping. Dealer put a hose on the windshield and left the wipers running. See where this is going....
The repair people went off to lunch and when they returned the hose had shifted and filled the car with water! Mrs. xxxxx we had a slight problem. They ended up buying the car back and totaling it due to ruined electronics.
Dealer btw has a very good reputation and did not give her any grief.
My wife doesn't like the headrest either. They are standard so ones from any car should fit. I don't mind them. The second cup holder in the console is useless. I put the ashtray there to hold change and stuff. If you move the armrest back it will hold smaller cups but gets in the way.
