The dealer's making about $600. on those wheels. It was pretty much stripped otherwise, right...?

Indeed. This was a zero-options sport model.

When I told the salesman I would've preferred the 17" wheels he told me they were putting 20s on a new Pat in the back... tried to sell me on them, too. No way... LOL

I'll bet anything he's gonna clamp the coils so it rides 2-3 inches lower and the wheels will fill the openings better. It might look "cool" but it'll still BE dumb.....

was it a 2wd?

So what do they do with the extra wheels?

a dealer in lawrenceville, ga did something similar with his first patriot sport ... i'm assuming the dealer ordered the base wheels, heard about 20 interested customers say "great suv, but those steel wheels are horrible" (no offense to those of us who own them), and swapped 'em out (the one here was on the lot 3 weeks before the wheel swap took place; it sold shortly afterwards). probably the last time they order one without the alloys.

No offense taken. ;)

Actually the dealer here installed a pair of aftermarket wheels on one and I think it looks ugly. Added $2,000 to the price, too. Blech. I'd take my plain-jane steel wheels any day.

I know this is a hella old post, but does anyone have any pics of their sport with the stock 16" steelies? Ive only seen one Pat around with them, and cant find any at a dealer to take a pic of. My gf wants to see a Pat with them so can decide what she wants to order.

Those aftermarket wheels look horrid. The tires are definitely too small.

I bet AZ never worries about knicking his wheels on curbs or rocks and saves money on wheel pollish...

Uggghhh!!! Sorry, I had a fur ball coming up. Must have been the cats. Personally I prefer the 17" aluminum optionals. Heck, I even like the stock steelies. I think they're the best looking stock steel wheels around. But I guess some people have different taste. Or none at all? Then again, who am I to judge....;)

Thanks a ton! I appreciate it, as that was one of the colors she wanted to see too.

The steel wheels on the Partiot are good looking wheels, and, entirely appropriate for the vehicle. Although I prefer the aluminum wheels on my Limited, if the steelies were the only wheels available, I'd have no problem with them whatsoever.

just picked mine up yesterday AM!!
it has stock steel rims with 16" tires.
I'm already married & am not trying to impress anyone....
nor want my Patriot to be a target to tire/rim thevies.
If any of these after market rims give you lots better
fuel mileage let me know $2.69 a gallon is 2 dollars too high!!!
