Meals On Wheels Needs Help Delivering
MILWAUKIE, Ore. -- Meals on Wheels put out an open call looking for delivery drivers on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The nonprofit organization was looking for drivers with four-wheel drive vehicles to help them with home deliveries to the homebound and elderly in areas that aren't easily accessible.
"Yesterday, volunteers stepped up to help so we hope they will again today," said the Milwaukie Center Meals on Wheels Coordinator Don Wiley.
The Meals on Wheels program from the Milwaukie Center in North Clackamas County needs drivers for Tuesday and likely for Wednesday, the program's coordinator said today.
Volunteers with the appropriate vehicles who feel comfortable driving on ice and snow should call the Milwaukie Center kitchen at 503-654-3030 in the morning between 8:30 and 9:30.
"We hope we can have people who have four-wheel drive vehicles and who feel confident driving on these roads give us a call. The recipients are very appreciative, and so are we," Wiley said...
