Hey all... new to the world of Jeeps, though I admit I've always lusted after many of them. I was in the market for a small SUV and had been looking at the Outbacks, Bajas, Foresters... even the Ford Escape, etc.

But then I ran across this blurb about a new Jeep coming out and it caught my attention. I've been doing a lot of research on them and this past Monday I went to the local Jeep dealership and test drove one.

OMG. Loved it. Now, I never was too serious about a 4x4 but I did want a light suv to haul gear (lots of mountain bike stuff) and the potential to pull a small tent trailer, etc. Plus some room to grow (family) in the future. It might see some light trail use but nothing that the 2wd can't handle. Not to mention I'm very excited about the estimated mpg. A HUGE improvement over my 94 Ford Ranger.

So after 5 hours at the dealership, I drove off the lot with my new Patriot, and I haven't been able to wipe the smile from my face yet. The only thing I wish I had were the larger wheels/tires but the only one they had in stock that I liked WITH the upgraded wheels was Limited with leather and all that extra "bling" that I didn't want.

So without further ado, my new Patriot:

Hey congrats on the new Jeep and enjoy it. It may be your first Jeep but it won't be your last. I got a 93 Cherokee with 123K miles and love it. Now I'm waiting for my new Patriot to come in.

Thats funny, from the outside it looks just like the Jeep I ordered! I didn't get the upgraded wheels because I'm putting some 31" tires on not to far down the road!

Congrats on your first Jeep. They are addicting. And, you won't have any problems finding bigger wheels and tires and such within the next year. Enjoy, and post more pics!

Nicely put!

Welcome to the Jeep family--now you too understand the smile that comes across all our faces when we see a jeep--any jeep:)

I just picked up my Patriot--special ordered in Jan--which is my third Jeep and walk by it every day on my way to and from work just to look at it! I have never been so excited to have to head over the George Washington Bridge to Philly for a family holiday as I am right now!

Wow, so shinny and pretty, Congratulations! Many happy content miles.
Don't know how or why but the Patriot got my attention as well.
I went for a test drive yesterday (finally) also in a red (limited) Patriot.
The dealership near me has had the Patriot for afew weeks, and every time I went in to drive one they were way tooo busy to be bothered, or someone else was out with the tester.
So last night on a whim (or to avoid food shopping) I went in, and when the first salesperson asked, "Can I help You?", I replied "Yes, we're going for a ride."
And it worked. Told them didn't ask. That's the trick.
Liked how the Patriot drove. Was pleasantly pleased.
Even tried a lot of passing since that is my main concern with a smaller engine. Did ok.
Congrats again, you look mighty pleased with yourself!
