Welcome to JeepPatriot.com! We are a website/forum dedicated to new Jeep Patriot from DaimlerChrysler.

Besides discussion regarding the Patriot, we also will offer tech tips, meets, get togethers and trail rides.

In addtion, we also have a section for the new Jeep Compass. The Compass is based off of the same platform as the Patriot, so many tech discussions will be relevant for both.

Again, welcome and enjoy! :)

Hi!
Here in Norway we will get the Patriot with Diesel. Then it will cost appr. 350000 Nkr. (About 53000 USD). This is what the big guys says......we`ll se about that. But anyway I have "ordered" one allready.

Wish we would get the diesel here. You mentioned the cost would be about 53,000 USD. How does that compare to the diesel Liberty (Cherokee) prices over there? For comparison to the prices here in the USA, the Liberty diesel with 4WD and automatic usually cost about 25,000 USD give or take a little.
The Patriot may be the vehicle that keeps me from buying a Subaru Forester, I'd rather buy a Jeep.

Hello!
Long time.....

Here in Norway the KJ Liberty costs allmost 60000 USD with the 2,4 petrol engine. The 2,8 diesel costs approx. 89000 USD. This is become of taxes to the government. The weight and ccm is doing allmost every Jeep impossible to sell here. This is the reason why I will wait for the Patriot. With an usual norwegian income, we will never afford a new Jeep. Dosen`t matter if both my wife and I work fulltime. With 2 kids, house, 2 cars and everything else, we can`t afford this kind of car. Usual income here is 40-60000 USD a year.

Wow, You have to pay a lot over there, and we thought cars were expensive over here! I was over in Germany, France and Holland in December and was really impressed with the number of small "large" cars over there. Small in physical size, but large in capacity, being tall and upright, but with economical engine choices, especially diesels. Wish we had some models like that over here instead of the cars we normally get.
I'm hoping that the diesel market will expand over here in the USA at the end of the year, when the cleaner diesel fuel becomes available. Right now there's not a lot of incentive for builders to provide diesels in the USA because California emission regulations won't allow diesels, and several states follow California's lead. Without being able to sell in those states, the market is not as profitable for the builders.
I'm really hoping that the Patriot is made available in the USA with a diesel option! :)

There was a car show in Oklahoma City this past weekend, but unfortunately they didn't have any Patriots. They did have the normal Wranglers, Libertys, and Grand Cherokees, and they also had a couple of Jeep Commanders, and they even had the Jeep Rescue concept car, but no Patriot. Dodge had 2 Dodge Calibers there, which is built at the same plant where the Compass and Patriot will be built, and I just read they opened a second shift at that plant.
I'm still hoping for a small diesel in the Patriot.
