2013 Jeep Patriot Driver seat belt issue

daughter purchased a 2013 Jeep Patriot, putting driver seat belt on the seat belt warning light/chime goes off, and will continue for 5 minutes, on and off. Seem that it's not detecting seat belt is fastened. I tested the receiver, (unplugged), has about 14 ohms, seat belt inserted goes to 11 ohms. I can't find any description how to troubleshoot it, or schematic/normal readings, I'm sure the dealer has test gear but who knows how much $$$ that will cost.

hence joined this site/posted the question - does anyone know how to troubleshoot this or know what could be the issue? I could start changing out parts as well, but thought I would ask here first... thanks...
