John's 2015 Patriot

Hello all,
I have had my Patriot approximately 1.5 years. Have lots of plans for it. Been taking my time with mods and upgrades. I actually thought I was going to keep this one until the final year for the Patriot and then get my dream Patriot. But I really like the one I have even though it's fwd. I have never been stranded or stuck. So I will probably be keeping her.

Model: 2015 High Altitude fwd.

Color: True Blue

Engine: 2.0

Trans: CVT

Tires: Came with Firestone Affinity (not good) put on Goodyear SRA 215 65 17. These are ok but will be buying BFG KO 2s 225 65 17 really soon. **Changed Tire Brand to Goodyear A/T Adventure w/Kevlar, 245 65 17. Installed, had to do the pinch weld mod.

Mods so far:
Stubby antenna
Rugged Ridge Floor mats (front only)
Vent visors
Mud flaps *changing to mopar mud flaps*
Battery blanket.

Future Planned Mods:
Roof rack
NOCO plug mounted in fascia for my battery blanket. DONE!
Install jumper cable plug on the front fascia. (So I can just plug my jumper cables in)
Curt Hitch DONE!
Tow Hooks DONE!
Fabricate skid plates
Rugged Ridge rear mats and cargo liner.
Engine oil cooler kit
Wheel spacers. DONE! 1.5" Hub Centric.
RRO Lift- Maybe
Transmission cooler
CB Radio
Mini front bull bar and light bar.
Scangauge 2-DONE!

I will try to update this regularly.

Thanks breadtruck, that's a picture from when it was new. I have done some of the mods already. I changed my air Filter and cabin air Filter today. I need to post the pics tonight, I could not believe how dirty they were.

BFG KO2's are heavy, you can't really update the drivetrain performance to match yet, but an aux trans cooler, K&N CAI, and Magnaflow cat-back exhaust should help some. Double-platinum spark plugs can be worth investing in as well, they don't need changed as often.

Thanks for your insight. I will keep this in mind. I want to install the engine oil cooler. And I guess I should look into a trans cooler if I use these tires.

Installed the Curt Hitch Today

It was almost a half inch off. Needed to install washers to make it fit perfectly.

John's 2015 Patriot

Fabricated tow hooks today. Thanks to another member on here that gave me the idea. Here is a quick pic, I will take more tomorrow at work. I already put trim around cut outs in bumper, also they look offset but it's just the camera angle. I'll get better pics tomorrow.

I've got a 2016 Compass in the same color. Putting the hitch on was surprisingly simple...much more easy than I had anticipated.

Looks great!

Thanks. And yes it was pretty easy, except I had to put spacer washers in due to hitch being about a half inch to small between the frame rails. But it turned out ok. Luckily I have access to vehicle lift. Makes all my little projects go so much easier when I need it. Also my wife has a 2015 compass and my daughter drives a 2016 patriot.

Tow hooks are done. And here are a couple of pics at work. Next I need to get my tires and possibly spacers.

Thanks,
Have a great day!

John's 2015 Patriot

NOCO plug arrived, will try to install it tonight. I will be plugging my battery blanket into this for a clean install. Saw one of the members here used it.

I had to do the same. Not sure why their dimensions are so far off, but with as cheap as the hitch cost me compared to hitches I put on other vehicles, I aint gonna complain too much
