water running out of forw interiorlight.

Hi everyone, has somebody experience with a leaking sunroof? Mine was standing with melting snow on it for a day.
Result, a lot of water was running out of the interiorlight into the dash. Possible cause and solution?

In the search window at the top right corner of this page enter "sunroof leak." I think you'll find plenty of threads and posts on the subject. Leaking sunroofs were a very common problem in the early years of the Patriot. What year is yours?

I don't have a sunroof but I think the problem was traced to blocked drain tubes. I haven't seen this explanation, but i wonder if the drain tubes could freeze? You mentioned snow on the roof so I'm presuming some weather cold enough to freeze those little pipes.

So yours was one of the first Patriots made. It takes a couple years before the weak points show up and the manufacturer has a chance to address it. Fortunately as I said in my other post, this was a common problem and there are lots of posts about it.

replace the gasket on the sunroof glass, it becomes compressed over time and does not seal. some times you can adjust it, just be out in the daylight and look at the edges of the sunroof from inside, if you see light, water can get in.

Most often the problem has seemed to be blocked drain tubes in the a-pillars. They get all gooped up and the water has to go somewhere.

Here's a how-to Easy, free fix for a leaky '08 Patriot

It could be an old gasket also, but the most common successful solution seems to be have been dealing with the draintubes. Check both closely and determine which fix is most appropriate.

Truckin' the bread all over your @$$!
