U(not)connect 130s

Howdy all! Day 3 of Patriot ownership, and I'm excited as heck to get to the fun stuff (lift, wheels, tires etc.), But this Stock stereo has got me stumped. I've got a 2016 sport that came with the Uconnect 130s. I dont have the steering wheel controls, so I'm assuming I'm without voice / calling etc. I have the buttons for voice and telephone on the stereo, and I also realize that these aren't necessarily suggestive of functionality. When either of these buttons are depressed I get nothing. No voice, no beep, & no error message on the stereos display. I also see no bluetooth signal with my iPhone 7. I've scoured the web and this forum and haven't figured out what features the stereo actually has. I've also located the USB in the glove compartment, though have yet to attach a formatted drive to it. Sirius is working, so there's that.

Any ideas? Do I have Bluetooth? Why does nothing happen when the Uconnect buttons are pushed?

Any thoughts are greatly appreciated.

Do you have the window sticker for it? that will tell you if you have blue tooth. all the radios are the same, regardless if they have blue tooth or not. Read the owners manual that gives you instructions to pair blue tooth (if equipped), follow those, and if nothing happens, then you don't have the expected response, no blue tooth. Also check in the glove box for a USB port, if you have one, then you probably have blue tooth, if you do not, then you probably don't since they are usually combined together.

I did not have steering wheel controls, but I did have B/T on my Patriot.

Hi jtron5,

If you would like to PM our page with your VIN and I can tell you what stereo your vehicle has and what features are on it. Just let me know!

Hi, I have the same radio in my '16 Patriot, also recently purchased. Not sure if you have wi-fi, but if its anything like mine -- I had to hold the Phone button down for a few seconds to activate. When it said something, I said "SETUP" & it walked me thru how to pair my iphone with the bluetooth. Once paired, I was able to make calls using the voice recognition. I could also go to a music app on my phone & hit play. Then press the AUX button to switch over & hear it. (Of course, make sure the radio is On.)

Side note -- it worked great for me for one week. When I got in my car, everything automatically paired, I could turn music on the phone, hit the AUX button & it would play no problem. But a few days ago, when I hit AUX - nothing happened. It wouldn't connect to the Uconnect bluetooth either. Not really familiar with this stuff, so I downloaded the UConnect App to my phone to see if that would help. I got to signing up, but then I got stuck at the Music app portion of the setup. There was no way to get to another screen, just the menu. So I called the help number from their menu thru the app. After getting transferred around a bit, eventually came to the solution. (Everyone was very pleasant.) There currently was some issues with the latest iphone version 10.2.1 & Uconnect for some people. They walked me thru doing a "Forget this network" for the Uconnect Bluetooth. Then I re-paired my phone to the bluetooth by pressing the phone button down for a few seconds to activate it again like the first time. Now it works again! They said that only works 50% of the time. And also -- the reason I got stuck on that music app screen on the Uconnect app was because apparently this radio or Uconnect version is not supported on the app. Guess its too old, but just fine for me! So figured I'd leave that there too in case you DO connect, but then it 'disconnects' again in the near future. Good luck!
