Question For Fun: Best Patriot Mods for under $100

OK. So I have my new toy (2014 Pat Latitude 4x4 2.4). Better think about toys for my toy. (Still with me?) So far the mods I am doing are:

1) K&N Air Filter (arrives soon)

2) Mopar rubber cargo mat (for my birthday)

Any other suggestions? Let's keep it under $100 - okay - doh-kay.

Go...

I'd splurge an extra 64 bucks to the 100 and get the stock crossbars from your dealer.

In a few months your nice black muffler will turn a rusty clay color... in which you'll need to buy a can of bbq-grill paint to touch it up. $5 mod.

For the speakers - I got the base radio with the Latitude trim. Is it a better upgrade to swap speakers or the radio? And if the best bang for buck is speakers - are the 6x9's the ones in the rear panel? Are they hard to get at. I am a (sometime) musician - so that would be at the top of my list - to upgrade sound.

Disregard - I see the 6 x 9's are in the doors. 3 Ways in the front - 4 way in the rear doors(?)

I'd upgrade speakers first. Both, front and rear, use 6x9's. I recommend just getting 3ways for both.

I think I will start w/ the fronts. If I can really tell a difference - I'll do the rears.

You'll notice a huge difference, the OEM speakers are total garbage.

If you plan on keeping your factory radio, then find speakers with a 91+ db sensitivity rating, they produce more sound with less wattage. I prefer brands like Boston, Infinity and a few others.

2013 Jeep Patriot Limited, 2WD, CVT, 2.4L, uConnect230 --- K&N filter, Curt Class III Hitch w/ Spare Bumper, Mopar Oil Cooler, Cooper AT3 225/70/16, Boston Acoustics 6x9", JBL Tweeters, GTMat, Kicker Hideaway 8", Viper 2-way Alarm, Fiamm FWY Blaster Horn, Cobra DX19IV CB Radio, 20% Front Tint, 5% Rear Tint, Rugged Ridge mats, Splash Guards, Philips Xtreme Headlights, DD XML2 Fog Lights 5000k, Optima Red Top, Front Tow Hooks, JEEPPATRIOT.COM sticker

Easiest audio upgrade I have ever done. Grille pops off, remove speakers, drop new ones in. Done. Took me under an hour for all 4. I have the unconnect 430 so I won't replace the head unit....I'm sure it would make a difference but def replace speakers first. I have 3 ways in each of my doors.

If you check the knowledge base forum section there are some guides with photos, etc on how to replace them.
