Lightbulb Places to off-road in Southern Ontario?

Hi everyone - we want to take our new Patriot off-roading sometime in the near future. Nothing too intense, but just have a little fun.

Where are some good places to go? We're from Toronto, but would drive an hour or so out of the city if the place was good.

Thanks!

PS -- Anyone care to join?

I've got nothing. I've seen a few trails around Kitchener-Waterloo, but in my understanding, none of them are really "open" in any way.

Google Maps - satellite view - seems to reveal trails here and there. Apparently Brampton, HWY 407/410 overpass has people using that area to the north.

Let me know if you find anything. I'm interested.

here's an event from 2002. there must be trails there, they just might be private land.

good luck! Finding a (legal) place to drive offroad is pretty difficult in SW Ont.

hey there
up around Alliston near Base Borden there are a few trails that are pretty nice, seen a few pickups get stuck. mostly muddy holes along trails and when there too deep you can usually get around them with a little effort.

2008 Patriot North Edition FDI, blacked out muffler, chrome grill, carbon fiber interior trim, stubby antenna. working on tow hooks and extra lights. any and all donations welcome

There are lots of trails on Crown land around the Welland Canal. Most are legal for horseback or dirtbikes. 4x4's seem to be a gray area. Lots of folks wheel there anyway. My old Jeep club had a few runs there, but I was turned back at border flat towing my CJ5 for insurance issues. The rest of the club wheeled there without incident several times. There are a few youtube videos of wheeling around those parts. There were a couple Canadian Off Road clubs in the Niagara Region, but I don't know their present status.
