tie rod ends and sway bar bushings

sound off on where you purchased from/ what you like/ don't like/ what to stay away from. I'm going to order this evening.

I do like the energy suspension greasables (still have yet to purchase) for the sway bar. Both of mine are shot. Took a look today while it was up on the lift while rechecking the back brakes and why they were still squealing...
Also noticed the play in the tire again (tie rods...ugh..)
I went and bought an outer tie rod end from AutoZone, but am going to take it back since finding them for about half the price they charged me. I don't know the difference with the inner and outer. Should I purchase the outer for each side or just the side where there is play?
I am taking it into the shop later this week.
Any other suggestions on what to get?
Will I need an alignment kit for after the tie rod installation?

also, I am not sure, am I supposed to get both inner and outer tie rods? hmmm...

Check out the thread below. Moog parts are greasable and have lifetime warranty. I believe parts for Compass will fit Patriot. Good luck and please report back upon completion of your project.

Had the LCA's replaced at the Dealership (under warranty) 9 Aug 2010.
This is strictly tie rod ends and sway bushings now.
Thank you for your help. I will deff utilize those links. I've done many searches on here which is what led me to believe there were issues w/ the bushings (suspicions confirmed yesterday and today- I got really excited...weird, I know!) and the play in the rod end again, but not sure if it's outer or inner. Hopefully find out tomorrow.
I will look at moog for the tie rod ends though!!!!

It should just be the outer tie-rods. The inners tend to last a long time on the rack and pinion units. And yes, you will need an alignment after the install, but not an alignment kit. Just need them to reset the toe, so you may want to replace both. Usually I'll do one side at a time, lock the steering wheel, then take a measurement from the steering knuckle to a frame section. That way when you install the new tie-rod, you can set it close to that same measurement and be close. Make sure to loosen the spring clamp on the steering rack bellows before turning the assembly. The rod coming out of the bellows should spin without twisting the boot. Too much twisting and you'll tear it.
