Goodyear DuraTrac

Anyone have any info on these new tires? They are calling them "the best of all worlds" due to good tread design for both on and off road, and strength.

They look like an aggressive tire, but no 17" compatible sizes...and at $190-$200 a piece...ouch! To be fair, they are high load rated tires which always cost more. Cool find though Dixie!

I really like the tread design, and I can hope it's a good trend coming our way.

I have the Wrangler Territory which is very close to the Duratrac, and other than the tires being heavy (load range C and E) they work awesome in the snow, rain mud and on dry pavement, they are a little on the loud side but i'll deal with that as they are great tires.

Duratrac seems to be the most aggressive tires of Goodyear, though really expensive.

Close, the MTR's are a little more aggressive. We've got a dually at work with studded Duratrac's on it, gets pretty decent traction compared to the GY SilentArmors we ran last winter.

and I thought those were from a Patriot you'd seen in a parking lot.

How do the 245/70-17's fit? Any rubbing on the struts or body when turning? It's the largest size we've seen here to date.

OK. you caught me. The "Rubicon Edition" Pat is mine.. A friend of mine here in town runs Adam's high rollin customs and it was with him for a few days. He was able to get them to fit with a few mods of the RRO lift. It rubs a tinny bit a FULL lock but its not to bad.
They are a great tire! ride nice, not very loud, and turns out very good in the snow.
It ended up almost 5.5" taller then stock.

07' FDII "Rubicon Edition", 245/70/17 Duratrac's, RRO lift (with mods), Custom JEEP wheels, Custom center console vault, Custom 10" woofer under the passenger seat, Eclipse double din DVD NAV head unit, 8" monitor head rest's, Ribbon tweeter's in dash location with hand made passive cross over.
My first vehicle was a JEEP! My last vehicle will be a JEEP!

Looks like the most reliable tires ever manufactured by Goodyear...
This tire seems perfect for handling tough off-road trails...
Nice design and also hope that it has decent traction...

You could always get 16" rims. They make it in a 225/75R16:
