Skins vs. New rims

I have looked in to new rims but apron research I found Wheel skins. They are an abs material that snaps over the existing wheels for a fraction of the cost of new rims. Any comments or concerns about the wheel skins?

Had them on my Dodge Durango...they didn't do much to protect the original wheel's finish, but they did give the wheels a new life.

They have gloss and flat black skins on Ebay for about $110.00. I was wondering about them myself. I would like to see a set on a car before paying good money for them though.

Do you have a link to where you got them? What color? gloss/flat? I haven't say chrome. I like the gloss black.

also i've heard to use zip ties when securing the skins for extra strength so they don't fall off. i'm going to see how it looks first before making a final decision.

If I need to zip tie them, then I don't want them. That's pretty bad. I hope it isn't the case.
