old thread but ive got code 2017, anyone found a fix?
Preston629, I have the same code in my '08 Jeep Patriot popping up. After reading every post about this issue (thanks to todde702 and Stonent for the bulk of the information) I believe that you can fix this by replacing the Intake Manifold Runner Control Valve (Dorman 911-902, search the part number on Amazon for a good price if your a Prime member). I watched the videos by Stonent and the flaps on my intake manifold seem to open and close with ease, no resistance what-so-ever.
So last night I changed out the Intake Manifold Runner Control Valve and after throwing everything back together, I am now getting the code p2004 (intake valve stuck open) so it seems to me that the new control valve is holding the runners open, but not getting the signal to close the them.
I tried to clear the code with my cheapy code reader (Autel MaxiScan MS300 CAN Diagnostic Scan Tool for OBDII Vehicles) but the p2004 keeps pop up.
I was about to take my Jeep to the dealership to see if I need a re-flash or if the dealer's code reader is needed in order to clear that code but then a co-worker asked the simple question: "Did you disconnect the battery and let it reset?" ....I did not, so I'm going to do that today and see if that clears the code. If not, it's off to the dealership to waste my time and probably get hassled to replace the whole intake manifold
Preston629 if your still on the forums and still have this issue, I can send you all the information I have gathered.
