Looks like your having some fun! I'd say bolt hole to bolt hole. No matter what, you'll need an alignment afterwards and they'll adjust it as needed.

very true. I just wanted to make sure before I go through all that work and have to re do it because I did it wrong. it was 103 and 25% humidity today when working on it, so I didn't get too far. I was listening to my ipod, which I left in the shade and it over heated and turned off (oops...)

I'm hoping to make a lot of progress this weekend since I will be able to tackle it in the mornings.

That's just a bad day. It's been about 95 here all week with about 10-15%. It's just gross. Good luck with the remainder of the install

Creation is right. Measurement is center of bolt hole to center of bolt hole. Almost anything on a vehicle with bolts on both ends is measured that way since that is the distance that matters.

I like the old Cherokee! Looks like a great project.

So excited to be working on it this weekend. Every time I've gone to work on it, its been the heat of the day. Will have a chance to work in the cool of the morning tomorrow.

I'm an idiot.

I got my springs installed just fine, got the passenger side upper control arm off without too much issue. got the axle bolt of the drivers side of easy, went to do the frame rail bolt and lost my socket into the frame when the socket slid off the bolt... That doesn't make me an idiot, what I did next does... I grabbed my other 15mm socket and almost immediately lost it as well into the frame rail... so I'm stuck until I can figure out how to fish those out of there....

any suggestions? I figure a flexible line with a magnet on the end should do the trick i think. just don't have one.

I'd think a magnet is the only way to go.

Grab some neodymium magnets out of the craft section at Walmart. Might be strong enough to work from the outside of the frame.

That's what I'd think too. Maybe tape a magnet on to the end of a piece of 14 or 12 ga solid copper wire, a fridge magnet might even work. Or if you have one of those computer cleaning kits with the small vacuum line and try to get it with vacuum.

Or there's always harbor freight...

awesome progress today, in the short time I've been able to work on it. top control arms installed, bottoms lightly tightened (instructions say to wait until its on the ground to finish snugging stuff up. and will have to do an alignment too, so probably will snug everything up after that) Got the driver's side shock installed and the passenger partially installed. I didn't have the top mounting hardware in the box so left a message with metal cloak in regards to getting that. started the install of the sway bar disconnects too. but stopped to get ready for a family function tonight. Video is uploading right now should be done in the next 30 minutes or so.
